MTN Mobile Money is the most widely used option among Pimechat users in Uganda. Withdrawals to MTN are processed within 4 to 24 hours and arrive as a mobile money notification on your phone. You can cash out at any MTN Mobile Money agent or use the funds directly for mobile payments, airtime purchase, or bill payments.
Airtel Money is also supported for Pimechat withdrawals, though fewer users choose this option. The process is identical: request a withdrawal, select Airtel Money, confirm your number, and receive the funds within 24 hours. Both networks charge no withdrawal fees from Pimechat's side, though standard mobile money transaction fees may apply.
Withdrawing your Pimechat earnings to MTN Mobile Money is simple. Log into your Pimechat account and go to the Withdraw section. Select MTN Mobile Money as your payment method. Enter the amount you want to withdraw. The minimum withdrawal is $3 (approximately UGX 11,000). Confirm that your MTN phone number is correct.
Click Submit Withdrawal Request. You will see a confirmation screen with your withdrawal reference number. Save this number in case you need to contact support about the withdrawal. Most MTN withdrawals are processed within 4 to 24 hours during business days.
When the money arrives, you will receive an SMS from MTN Mobile Money with the transaction details. The sender will show as Pimechat or Pimechat Payments. Check that the amount matches your withdrawal request. You can then cash out at any MTN agent, send the money to another number, or use it for mobile payments. The choice is yours.
Ugandan users earn slightly less on average than Kenyan users due to fewer tasks being targeted at the Ugandan market. However, the earning potential is still significant. Kampala users report monthly earnings of $80 to $300 depending on effort level. Users in Entebbe, Jinja, and Mbarara earn $60 to $200 per month.
Rural users in areas with limited internet connectivity earn $40 to $120 per month. The key for rural users is to focus on low-bandwidth tasks and build strong referral networks within their communities. Word spreads quickly in Ugandan villages, and a single active referrer can build a network of 20 to 30 users.
At the current exchange rate, $150 per month is approximately UGX 550,000. This covers rent for a modest apartment in Kampala's outskirts, school fees for primary school children, or food expenses for a small family. For students, $50 per month (UGX 185,000) covers accommodation, meals, and transport on many university campuses.
Video watching tasks are the most abundant for Ugandan users. International advertisers and local Ugandan businesses both post video tasks targeting the Ugandan market. These tasks pay $0.10 to $0.50 per video and are easy to complete. A user who watches 20 videos per day earns $2 to $10 daily from this category alone.
App installation tasks are the second most profitable category. App developers targeting the Ugandan market pay $0.30 to $1.20 per install. These tasks require downloading and opening an app, which takes about 2 minutes. A user who completes 10 app installs per day earns $3 to $12 daily.
Social media sharing tasks are particularly effective for Ugandans who are active on WhatsApp and Facebook. Sharing promotional content to Ugandan groups and your personal status pays $0.10 to $0.40 per share. Users with large WhatsApp contact lists can complete many shares quickly, boosting their hourly earning rate significantly.
Data costs are the primary concern for Ugandan Pimechat users. MTN Uganda charges approximately UGX 50 to UGX 100 per MB on standard data plans. A video task that uses 50 MB could cost UGX 2,500 to UGX 5,000 in data, which eats significantly into your earnings if you are not careful.
The most successful Ugandan users complete high-data tasks on Wi-Fi. Kampala has numerous cafes, restaurants, and co-working spaces with free Wi-Fi. Universities like Makerere, Kyambogo, and Kampala International University offer free Wi-Fi to students. Shopping malls like Acacia Mall and Garden City have Wi-Fi zones.
For users without regular Wi-Fi access, buying daily or weekly data bundles is more cost-effective than pay-as-you-go rates. MTN offers a 1 GB daily bundle for about UGX 5,000, which is enough for a full day of mixed task completion. If you earn $5 to $8 (UGX 18,500 to UGX 29,600) in that day, your data cost is 15% to 25% of earnings, which is sustainable for a side income activity.
Kampala users benefit from the best internet connectivity in Uganda, with 4G coverage across most of the city and numerous Wi-Fi hotspots. Kampala users should focus on all task types, including high-bandwidth video tasks. The city also has the most tasks targeted at urban consumers, giving Kampala users more options.
Users in Entebbe, Jinja, Mbarara, Gulu, and Arua should focus on tasks that work well with 4G mobile data. App installs, surveys, and social shares are ideal. These cities have good 4G coverage but fewer free Wi-Fi spots than Kampala. Building a referral network is particularly effective in these smaller cities, where communities are tight-knit and personal recommendations carry weight.
Rural users face the biggest challenge with limited internet connectivity and lower task availability. The best strategy for rural users is to complete every available task with perfect quality to maintain a high approval rating. Visit nearby towns regularly to batch-complete high-bandwidth tasks on better connections. Focus heavily on referrals, since rural communities often have many people looking for income opportunities.
Referrals are where Ugandan users can really shine. Ugandan culture places high value on community and mutual support. When you find a genuine opportunity, people in your network trust your recommendation. This makes Uganda one of the best countries for Pimechat referral success.
Start with your immediate circle: family members, close friends, church groups, and schoolmates. Show them your own earnings as proof that Pimechat works. Help them complete their first task so they experience success immediately. Users who complete a task and see their balance increase on day one are much more likely to remain active.
Expand to social media by joining Ugandan Facebook groups and WhatsApp communities. Share your referral link with a brief testimonial about your own experience. Post screenshots of your withdrawals (with sensitive information blurred). Answer questions from people who are interested. Be honest about the earning potential and do not make unrealistic promises. This approach builds trust and leads to sustainable referral income.
Daniel Otim is a 22-year-old student at Makerere University. He discovered Pimechat in November 2025 while searching for ways to earn money online during his semester break. He started with no referrals and no experience, just a smartphone and determination.
In his first month, Daniel earned $62 by completing tasks for about 90 minutes per day. He used the university Wi-Fi to avoid data costs and focused on app installations and surveys. In his second month, he started sharing his referral link with classmates. His earnings grew to $118. By February 2026, Daniel had referred 34 active users, mostly fellow students, and earned $245 that month.
Today, Daniel uses his Pimechat earnings to pay his hostel rent in Banda, buy food, and cover transport costs to campus. He no longer asks his parents for pocket money. More importantly, he has taught his referral network how to succeed, creating a positive cycle where his referrals earn well and he benefits from their activity. Daniel represents the potential that Pimechat offers to Ugandan students and young people.
